Finally!

Okay, here it is!  I finally finished Jessica's block after several unsuccessful attempts at paper piecing.  I could never get the patterns from Quilter's Cache to print correctly.  So, I went with good old normal piecing.

Shrinking Quilters' Bee #1

This block is called Louisiana. I can't believe my flying geese came out so nicely! I did them using triangles, not rectangles and squares as many people do. I think this is the reason why they're so much nicer than usual.

It's not perfectly sized... It's about 1/8" too small in a few areas. Sorry, Jessica! I still think it looks good.

By the way, I signed on the front. I was supposed to do that, right?

  2. Great block! And, yes, we are to sign on the front. I signed mine in a hurry before mailing it. I was trying not to make it too conspicuous, and ended up signing too close to the outer edge, where it could get trimmed off (mine is a little big) and part of it will probably end up in the seam allowance! Sigh.

  3. Looks great! I'm not familiar with that block, but I like it a lot. I signed mine, too.

Thanks for reminding me to sign my block!

  6. Good job. The paper piecing patterns from that site were hard. I made several practice blocks---a bit of a pain.

Well, so sorry but I think I signed mine on the back. I mailed it already along with two yards of fabric I found in a coffee motif. Our January gal should have it by now.
